Biography
Captain Joseph Jones founded the Waifs’ home in 1906, and remained the supervisor until it merged into the Milne Boys’ Home in 1926. For more information about the school, see “Louis Armstrong and the Waifs’ Home” by William D. Buckingham in the Jazz Archivist (Tulane University: 2011).
