Biography
Daughters of Charity opened Hotel Dieu in 1859. In the 1970s and 1980s the hospital began a partnership with LSU Health Sciences Center and was renamed University Hospital in 1991 when the Louisiana State University System purchased the property. It became Interim LSU Hospital and closed in 2015 with the opening of University Medical Center
