Biography

Physician. Native of Louisville, Kentucky. Received M.D. from University of Louisville in 1942. Performed internship and residency at Charity Hospital, New Orleans. Appointed to faculty of Tulane University Medical School in 1948. Conducted nutrition surveys in Latin American countries for U.S. Interdepartmental Committee on Nutrition for National Defense in 1960-1962. Served as Associate Dean and Director of Post Graduate Medicine at Tulane, 1963-1967. Directed the Louisiana section of the National Nutrition Survey in 1968. At his death (May 1, 1970), he was Professor of Nutrition in the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and Director of Biomedical Communications for the Medical School.

Scope and Contents The records include correspondence and reports relating to nutrition surveys in Columbia and Bolivia in 1960-1962 and to the exchange program between the medical schools of Tulane and Anioquia (Columbia).
