Scope and Contents
The records of this office were incomplete upon arrival at the City Archives. Individual documents were not foldered or organized in any discernible way except chronologically. The archivist created folders based on subjects indicated by the content of the documents.
Included are inter-office memos; citizen complaints and requests for assistance; invitations; letters (both incoming and outgoing) of congratulations, recommendation and thanks; correspondence with individuals, businesses, and organizations; correspondence and other materials dealing with city agencies, notably the City Council, the Police and Fire Departments, Sewerage and Water Board, and the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO), among others.
Of particular note are the files, however incomplete, associated with Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent flooding of the city and the ensuing recovery efforts. These include Requests for Proposals (RFPs), correspondence and contracts with the Office of Community Development/Disaster Recovery Unit (OCD/DRU), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and General Services Administration (GSA).

Biographical / Historical
The Mayor's Office Administration provided support services that ensured efficient and effective daily operation of the Office of the Mayor. Members of this office included Pat Heno Smith, Director of Scheduling and Administration, Mary Pettingill, Director of Fiscal Affairs, Serda Anderson, Deputy Director of Scheduling, and Cheryl Mendy, Deputy Director of Administration. The support and coordination provided by this office was intended to allow Mayor Nagin to develop, promote, implement, and maintain programs for the benefit of the citizens of New Orleans.
