The majority of records are the arrest books, bound volumes with the arresstee's information organized by police precinct or district. By the 1950's, arrests made by the Homicide Division and the Tactical Unit are separated out, as are the arrests of inebriated persons, referred to as the "Drunk Books." The arrest registers contain similar information, but are only available for the years 1970-1979.
