Scope and Contents

Materials include surveys of rainfall, evaluations of flood lines, reports the the mayor and city engineer, an overview of drainage districts and sections, materials submitted to the city council. Biographical / Historical

The Advisory Board on Drainage of the City of New Orleans was formed by City Council ordinance 8327 C.S. in November of 1893. They were charged with formulating a comprehensive drainage plan for the City. The culmination of their work is the "Report on the Drainage of the City of New Orleans," available to view in the City Archives (call number LOUR628.2 N53).
