Metropolitan Arts Fund (METRO/ACNO) grants were funded by the Metropolitan Arts Fund, Inc., a corporately supported fund for the arts created in 1989 in an effort to stabilize, support, and strengthen arts organizations in the metropolitan New Orleans are a. Parishes included were Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John, and St. Tammany. METRO/ACNO grants were made possible by contributions from forty-one local corporations. National Endowment Grants for the Arts regrant funds supplemented t he METRO/ACNO program. Grants under the program were made for project initiative support, endowment support, expansion arts staff support, and operating support.
