This collection consits of subject files from Curtis' time as District A representative. The majority of materials are from the early 60's, and pertain to budget and zoning issues. Some personal papers were also transferred and are included here.

Biographical / Historical
Henry B. Curtis' municipal career spanned over 44 years, beginning as an assistant city attorney in 1925 until his retirement from City Council in 1970. He served as City Attorney under Mayor Morrison from 1949 until 1957, when he was elected to City Council as the District A representative. He held this office for 12 years until he retired in 1970.
Curtis (1896-1980) was born in New Orleans where he attended Jesuit High School and Loyola University where he received his law degree. He served in the Louisiana National Guard's Washington Artillery, was stationed in Europe during World War I, and was called into active duty during World War II, achieving the rank of colonel.
