Ethel Willia Perkins papers
Scope and Contents
Papers include typewritten letters, 1942-1946, to Miss Perkins from various official agencies involved in her attempt to communicate with relatives captured by the Japanese during World War II. Also included is a typescript memoir of a 1908 trip to Guatemala, compiled from diaries and letters written at the time; a typescript collection of "boners," apparently accumulated during her years of teaching; and a scrapbook of Chinese Christmas and greeting cards, some from a mission school in Tsingtao and others probably from relatives living in Shanghai. Miss Perkins visited China in 1937.
