Poydras Homestead Association minutes

 Collection
Identifier: SC-197-MS

Scope and Contents

The minutes, in one volume (marked No. 1), begin on February 23, 1910 with what appears to be the firm's organizational meeting. Included are board meetings (both regular and special) along with meetings of the executive committee and meetings of the Association's shareholders. For each meeting the minutes record the names of the members in attendance along with details of the business transacted. Among the transactions recorded are withdrawals (giving name of depositor and amount withdrawn) and loan applications (giving name of applicant, amount borrowed, and the location & description of the construction project). Several loose papers (cerifications of board elections and secretary's reports) were left in place within the volume. The minutes end with the meeting of the shareholders held on March 6, 1913. At that meeting the Association, among other things, voted to go into voluntary liquidation.
