This series contains correspondence with various city departments and constituents that include complaints about civic services, government officials, and the police. Official correspondence between the Mayor and the Council are included, as well as reports from City Surveyors. More detailed description of the contents can be found on each item or subseries in this inventory. The letterbook also includes copies of letters from before this period, going back to 1811.
