Bonds and Permits, 1864-1909
Scope and Contents
This series includes bonds sold by the city to the citizens of New Orleans to finance various projects, including improvement to the city's shipping wharves, permits issued to various merchants (including by the military mayor during Federal Administration of the city), and contacts between the city and various vendors. These also include franchises awarded to ferries and wharf operators on the Mississippi River. More detailed inventory can be found in the description of each volume.
