Bonds and Permits, 1864-1909
This series includes bonds sold by the city to the citizens of New Orleans to finance various projects, including improvement to the city's shipping wharves, permits issued to various merchants (including by the military mayor during Federal Administration of the city), and contacts between the city and various vendors. These also include franchises awarded to ferries and wharf operators on the Mississippi River. More detailed inventory can be found in the description of each volume.

A one-page invoice, dated January 13, 1838, for $26.25 of goods purchased for the Steamer Maimora.

Manuscript diary, consisting of 56 pages, July-August, 1870, including Benedect's sea voyage from England to France.
John T. Adams ship ownership papers
Papers dealing with ownership of the steamship, "Grover Cleveland". Includes a certificate of inspection and a certificate of ownership.
Suviah ship records
Log of voyage from New Orleans to Brasos St. Iago, commencing December 23, 1846, William Gardiner, master. The ship reached the Chalmette battleground, where it met with an accident that forced it to return to the city. Most of the record recounts efforts to clear the decks and make the vessel seaworthy. The voyage was not continued.

Records include reports of flatboats, and steamboats arriving in the port of the Second Municipality and a register of sea vessels.
