Biographical / Historical

Louis A. Wiltz was mayor from 1873-1874 and marked the Democratic Party's return to the Mayor's seat during Reconstruction. After serving as Mayor, Wiltz was elected as Governor of Louisiana marking the return of the Bourbon Democrats to power and the end of Reconstruction in the state.
