Biography

A former reporter, she served as Press Secretary/Speechwriter to the late Mayor Ernest N. Morial, City of New Orleans and Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu when she held the State Treasurer's Office. Ms. Brylski has a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelors in Political Science/Journalism from Loyola University of the South.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The majority of records in this collection are from Wilson's At-Large term on City Council; however, a few date back to her previous District A terms. Materials have been grouped into five seperate series, reflecting the activities of her office. Wilson's office kept extensive subject files on city agencies, businesses, local organizations, and topics of local interest. Scope and Contents

The papers document Brylski's work in the Morial administration as well as several subsequent political campaigns that she directed. Those campaigns include Morial's 1986 run for the District D seat on the City Council, Donald Mintz's 1989 run for the Mayor's Office, Ken Carter's 1993 run for Mayor, and David Shroyer's 2000 candidacy for the Orleans Parish School Board. Also included are a number of reports and other documents collected by Brylski during the course of her career.
