Scope and Contents

The papers document Brylski's work in the Morial administration as well as several subsequent political campaigns that she directed. Those campaigns include Morial's 1986 run for the District D seat on the City Council, Donald Mintz's 1989 run for the Mayor's Office, Ken Carter's 1993 run for Mayor, and David Shroyer's 2000 candidacy for the Orleans Parish School Board. Also included are a number of reports and other documents collected by Brylski during the course of her career.

Biographical / Historical

The Brylski Company, founded in 1986, is a women-owned business whose sole proprietor is Cheron Brylski. The company specializes in public relations and marketing campaigns for government, non-profit and political clients in the State of Louisiana. The company also has the distinction of running more women for public office in Louisiana than any other firm of its type. To date, the Brylski Company has handled more than 130 campaigns in Louisiana. Cheron Brylski, a former reporter, served as press secretary/speechwriter to the late Mayor Ernest N. "Dutch" Morial, the City of New Orleans, and U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu when she held the State Treasurer's Office. A former reporter, she served as Press Secretary/Speechwriter to the late Mayor Ernest N. Morial, City of New Orleans and Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu when she held the State Treasurer's Office. Ms. Brylski has a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelors in Political Science/Journalism from Loyola University of the South.
