Zoning Dockets, 1985-2012 , bulk: 2000-2009

 Sub-Series

Scope and Contents

The zoning dockets are arranged by year and docket number. Dockets were assigned numbers numerically as the zoning applications were submitted to the office of the City Planning Commission (CPC). Some exceptions should be expected. Renovations or changes to certain properties meant that older zoning dockets pertaining to the same property were pulled and placed with the new zoning docket. Please see the inventory for a list of those zoning dockets identified that are out of order, as well as those zoning dockets that are missing from the collection.

Zoning Dockets typically contain the zoning application, building and renovation plans, correspondence between the applicant at the CPC office, design review documents, as well as public comments when available. Typically, the CPC tried to fit the materials into one folder. Some of them are overfilled with material. Other zoning dockets for larger projects may comprise several folders to hold all of the relevant materials.

There is an alternate collection of zoning dockets reports that were sent to the City Council by the CPC. These files do not contain the extent of files that are contained in the zoning dockets created and maintained by the CPC. An inventory for the zoning dockets files and reports sent to the City Council by the CPC can be found.

Arrangement

Zoning Dockets are arranged by year and docket number. Zoning dockets that were not received by the Louisiana Division are noted as "missing" in the inventory notes. The CPC office separated the zoning docket for Churchill Downs (35/05) into a separate box. The arrangement of the collection reflects this separation. Please see the inventory and inventory notes for more information.
